Sochi International Airport accommodates cargo flights with equipment and racing cars "Formula 1"

September 18, the first AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) cargo flight arrived at Sochi International Airport, where racing cars and equipment for the fifth in the history of the Russian Grand Prix "Formula 1" were delivered.

The charter flight on the route "Singapore-Sochi" arrived at the Sochi airport at 03:25 (local time is indicated). On the Boeing 744 aircraft carried a cargo weighing about 122 tons.

The next days, from September 18 to 26, Sochi International Airport will take another 7 cargo flights of AirBridgeCargo Airlines, Silkway West Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways. The Boeing 744 and the A332 aircrafts will deliver the equipment for the Formula 1 race, including the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, Scuderia Ferrari, Williams Martini Racing, Red Bull Racing, Sahara Force India F1 Team, Scuderia Toro Rosso, McLaren Honda F1 Team and others. All cars, chassis and details of racing cars are packed in special containers.

For the first time, Sochi International Airport received equipment and cars for the debut of the Russian stage of the Formula 1 race at the Russian Grand Prix in 2014.

It is to be recalled that the "Formula 1" Grand Prix of Russia 2018 will be held from September 27 to 30 in Sochi Avtodrome.
