Due to the large number of passengers during the velvet season, Sochi International airport is able to confidently close the gap with last year's figures, gradually overcoming the crisis consequences of the pandemic.
In just 9 months 2020, the airport handled 4 891 712 4 passengers. This is 11% less than in the same period last year, when passenger traffic was 5,533,160 people. 4,819,466 people used airline services on domestic routes (-8%), and 72,246 people used international flights (since March, only export flights are operated).
The number of flights for 9 months amounted to 18,161 operations, which is 12% less than in January-September 2019.
The volume of cargo and mail handled during the period under review this year is 2,742 tons.
The most popular domestic routes are Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Kazan.
